The U.S. Forest Service will reopen the Cascades Lakes Welcome Station on Saturday. The agency closed it as the pandemic began in 2020 and was unable to open until now due to staffing shortages.

In 2020, COVID-19 shut down the U.S. Forest Service on Century Drive. Staffing challenges have kept it closed since, even as most places returned to normal when the pandemic waned.

That changes on Saturday when the welcome station reopens.
